Our local guy...

Too funny not to share!  This is our local reporter, he's famous for doing things like running out in the middle of the road to yell at drivers who are running stop signs and breaking laws, he's actually won several Emmy's for his style of reporting, but it doesn't make him seem any less ridiculous at times, although we love him dearly here... enjoy!

Still have power, although things are starting to fly through the air, and we now have another offshore rescue that's underway, people are insane!  The tunnels officially closed just a few minutes ago, so we are effectively separated from mainland now, but we are doing okay!

  1. He's definitely a character! It's already raining here.

  2. He definitely shows what's going on from a front row seat. Also, the idiots on the boats are like the people who go down to the beach to watch the tnsunamis.

  3. Take care of yourself! Your hurricanes are like our blizzards, only more fierce! Stocking up on supplies beforehand, power loss, and a lot of clean up afterwards. You have to clean up branches and debris, we have to shovel snow. Mother Nature surely likes to keep us on our toes.

  4. Hee-hee. That is some wind!

We went for a beach hike this morning, the surf is definitely picking up here.....I can't ponder what people would be thinking down your way in order to put body or craft into the water right now. Sheesh. Thanks for keeping us updated, especially for those of us without cable. (Grin.)

  6. That's just too funny. At least you have entertainment until the lights go out. Did mama bird find her nest? I sure hope so.

We have a steady rain and wind here. This is one big storm. So glad it is not still a 2 or 3. Will look for your updates until you loose power. Lot's of folks are praying. Keep safe.

  9. Update: we lost power for about 3 hours but we're back up again. It was an actual dangerous situation where a pole snapped in half down the road and there were live wires down so I think that's why we got back online so quick. The storm isn't actually supposed to hit full force until about 7-8 pm so I think we will surely lose power again soon. It's nasty hot and humid when the power is out today and can't open the windows, yuck! Sadly, a little boy died about an hour ago when he was crushed by a huge tree that came down through their apartment here. thankfully, we don't have any trees that imposing around us. Still have random reports of people being spotted in boats on the water...insane. Winds are really picking up and we've had several inches of water already but expected to get 10 inches. You can probably see more than we can from tv since ours has been in and out. I did however see a clip from the Weather Channel in Virginia Beach on YouTube where a bunch of our local guys ran behind a reporter on the beach and streaked LOL.... I'm sure you can find it somewhere if you are interested, it looks like it's going viral on Facebook :) All is well, we are safe and not doing any crazy stuff, promise!
