A military spouse's take on blooming where you are planted. I continue to pretend I am living on my dream farm while in reality, I live on a military base, gardening in a plot alongside a Navy flightline, with half of my homesteading supplies perpetually packed in boxes and have a habit of being overly involved in every community we live in. I'm a busy mom to 2 boys and a spouse to a Navy sailor soon nearing retirement. I love this chaotic life wouldn't trade it for anything!
Oh wow! I melt at 90F so I'd have to stay in the air conditioned car or run the risk of melting. Now if you had a cucumber on that plant it would feel cool if you cut it up and put it on your face or ate it in a salad. Poor plant looks like she needs a fan.
THE 2 DAYS IT HIT 100 HERE ,I HAD TO RUN TO THE STORE [ I DON'T RUN ANYMORE -ANYWHERE] - WOULD BE ON MY FACE. I TOLD MY SON PLEASE DROP ME OFF AT THE DOOR ITS CLOSER TO THE AIR. AS I WAS LEAVING THE AIR IN THE CAR.HE SAYS ITS JUST LIKE A HAIR BLOWER -----A HOT ONE NO CAR SERVICE-JEES -THANKS JOHN I NEVER WOULD HAVE SURVIVED THE OLD OLDEN DAYS
That cucumber didn't look cool - it looked downright miserable. As I would be, had I been suffering from 100 degrees at 6pm (or at ANY time). Geez Loueeze, Erin. Time to take trip north - I hear there's a frost warning!
Good grief! So did you run from the car to the house? I don't think we broke 70 today. Your cuke doesn't look happy at all! YOU SHOULD SING TO IT

ReplyDeleteYuck! That's the temps we've been seeing here too... nowhere near a beach though. Hopefully it cools down for you soon!
ReplyDeleteWe also had a heat wave of 101F and all of our plants were suffering. Too hot too fast!
