A whole lotta' nothin goin on!

As of 6:10 pm, everything is great here, just starting to get gray, breeze no more than 15 mph, just thought I'd let my husband and parents see for themselves that we are doing great here! I really like this video thing, it's very lazy-blogger, I get to just talk instead of type! Don't worry, I won't subject you to it after Earl passes LOL

Late tonight is what we are hearing now.

Looks like it is really going to bang up the northeast, Kelly & Thomas - you guys okay? How close to the coast are you?

  1. Hey Erin, I'm in the Northeastern part of Massachusetts, about a half hour's drive from the coast. I think we're gonna dodge this one. Kelly will probably see more action than I will.

Marc and I used to live on the ocean. (Our living room window literally had panoramic views of the Atlantic). Winter nor'easters were very cool to look at....I'm sure a hurricane would be quite something.

Hopefully you ride out this one without a hitch! Good luck!

  2. Thomas, good to know you hopefully escape this, I also love nor'easters more, the power outages are a pain but there's something cozy about a good storm in the winter. Plus I think it's easier to keep warm by piling on layers than dealing with the a/c out in a storm when it's 95ยบ!

  3. I am in the "cape cod hurricane warning" zone, though right on the edge so hopefully we will see way less action than they are calling for. And I am 10 minutes from the beach, no water views here to be worried about. Sustained 60 mile an hour winds will be interesting- I hope to not be without power for more than a couple of days if Earl doesn't shift to the east. Go east Earl, and go big!

  4. Half of the excitement of the storm is the prep for it, isn't it? It gets your blood going. I'd be relieved it passed you by, but even if you get nudged by it, you are ready, baby!

BTW, I put the extra pictures up on the blog this evening. Hopefully it will help you see the size difference of the wristlets and fobs.

  6. Kelly, hang in there, I'm hoping it veers off! Ribbit, that's the idea, I'm all prepared, so now I'm outside hanging with my neighbors redneck-style!

Apple Pie Gal, the wine is flowing now and a "breeze" is coming in but it feels nice after the hot day - also just a few "spits" of rain.

Don't know how it happened, but I just got roped in to my kids' first sleepover, and I'm hosting during a storm? My neighbors (the parents) are probably outside right now having a blast withOUT their kids LOL while I'm trying to get them to settle down...

  7. Hope your night turns out to be very uneventful . . . with the storm I mean. The sleepover? That may be a little more wild and worrisome! :o) Take care and be safe.

  8. Hope everyone stays safe. The preparation comments got me thinking about my friend. She, too, lives here in the Midwest (41 miles from the Center of the Google Universe): on the MO/KS state line. She and her Florida mom have ongoing arguments about which is worse: the brief, yet unpredictable tornado - or the longer, yet more predictable hurricane. I prefer neither, but it's fun to hear them go at it. Mother Nature, she's one powerful gal!
