A military spouse's take on blooming where you are planted. I continue to pretend I am living on my dream farm while in reality, I live on a military base, gardening in a plot alongside a Navy flightline, with half of my homesteading supplies perpetually packed in boxes and have a habit of being overly involved in every community we live in. I'm a busy mom to 2 boys and a spouse to a Navy sailor soon nearing retirement. I love this chaotic life wouldn't trade it for anything!

How did those get there?
The pepper girl is back!
You know where I'll be spending the day!
Canning jalapeƱos, blanching beans & salvaging some of those massive cukes for refrigerator pickles, every year those first few cukes get away from me!
I am always totally amazed at the amount of jalapenos that you harvest every year. You are the Jalapeno Queen! Y'all must go through a LOT of peppers - you inspired me to can some jalapenos last year and I am still enjoying them - and will be for the next five years!
Susan, we went through 20 jars of jalapeƱos this past winter LOL! I upped it to 8 plants this year instead of 6 since we ran out of peppers in February!
Good lord almighty, girlie....does your madness know no limits? LOL! What a harvest-it looks mighty good. Congrats! And we'll see you in about a month.......
With the weather you've been having outside, canning/preserving inside sounds like a piece of cake! (Or a jar of peppers.) ;o}
ReplyDeleteWell, whatever you lost this year in tomatoes, you are definitely making up in peppers!

Those are lovely, lovely peppers. I'm so far behind you. But pickling! What a good idea.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you were doing the can-can today! Nice peppers!
