Baby birds, cute!
Mama Dove's eggs...
teeny eggplant, cute...
Poor Marley, but still cute.
Old shade situation, definitely not cute. Mama Pea, note that your pink duct tape is being used to hold the structure together after the last storm :) Like a page torn from Southern Redneck Outdoor Living magazine. Enlarge to get the full effect LOL.
Situation remedied this morning, a little cuter with tablecloth on well worn patio set! I hate these gazebos but they give off so much more shade they are much more practical, and it had to be able to be quickly taken down in the high winds.
Squash bug nymps, definitely not cute...
Last but not least - cute...!
Ooo, great photos. I particularly like the last one. Their mouths always seem SO huge. Your gazebo awning may not win any prizes in your eyes but it will make your table so much more livable. You'll get used to it.

Look at that big nose! How cute is he??! I don't mind those gazebos, especially when you line the corners with potted plants and make it look really purdy.
ReplyDeleteJudy, it definitely will! We used to have a large gazebo there but of course it blew away in a hurricane LOL, those umbrellas look nice, but don't do a darn thing for shade when it's 95 degrees!

Thomas, I've already got some planters with herbs in the corners. After losing one of those gazebos with screen doors and shelves in a storm I won't do them anymore. At least with this one I can take it down quick by myself and we can even bring it camping or hubby can use it when he's working on a project out by his shed where the tools are. One nice thing about the old style expensive gazebo that got shredded - that's what I harvested trellises from for the Lettuce House LOL, I kept all the leftover pieces :)
Sorry, Marley, but I laughed out loud at your picture! Aren't those Mourning Dove eggs just the most perfect things?? If my memory isn't failing me (and it could be), I think the pink duct tape was Chicken Mama's idea. Remember you said your hubby could make anything with duct tape? And what he was supposed to make for us with the pink tape? Heeheehee! We're still waiting. ;o} Now go get those squash bug nymphs!
ReplyDeleteWe have a sunshade too. It's anchored on two side to the garage and on the other two sides it's spiked into the ground. So far we haven't had a problem with wind but we don't get tornado winds here.
ReplyDeleteSquish those bugs!!!
It's nice to see the dove laid some more eggs. Is Marley waiting for the 4th or a doggy treat?
I think the table under the gazebo is very cute. :) Squash bugs NOT cute. Baby birds - super cute. Marley is definitely a prize!
ReplyDeletePoor Marley...but what a doll.
ReplyDeleteAnd Pink duct tape saves you from being a redneck. That is ALWAYS silver............
:)
I think that the cutes won! More cutes then not cutes. Those gazebos definitely provide a lot of shade. We always put one up over our "living room" area at the one end of the deck. "The Italian" drew up plans to build a permanent shade structure there this year.....but, it doesn't look like that will happen until next year.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get Pink duct tape? How cool. I dont know if baby stink bugs are even cute to a Mama stink bug. They look like spiders and that creeps me out. Yuck
ReplyDeleteErin, what spray are you using on the tomatoes? I've got some big funk going on with mine.
ReplyDeleteGeez Louise-that is exactly how my umbrella looks -minus the pink tape-do I have to go all the way to momma pea's to get the same effect? my Dan-[OCD-Dan] says it is not usable--he is gaining way to much control---grrrrr. IF MARLEY WAS IN MY YARD LOOKING LIKE THAT -HE BETTER RUN FOR HIS LIFE OR KATELYNN WILL CATCH HIM AND HE WILL FOREVER LIVE HIS LIVE AS A DOLL===LOL
ReplyDeleteMama Pea, poor Marley indeed! Sprocket won't keep anything on, so Marley gets all the dress-up around here, she's worn combat boots, sunglasses, and bikini top the kids found from my early days LOL, and now this!

Sparkless, one of the kids brought that hat home from school, I don't even know what the story is there!
***
Patty, thank you! It will be nice to be able to actually eat out there again, usually the evening sun is at such an angle the umbrella did no good!
***
Sue, LOL I was starting to get used to the duct tape and bamboo stake supports hubby rigged the umbrella with, but I'm hosting a garden party Saturday night and thought maybe that was taking "reusing/recycling" to a bit of an extreme!
***
Robin, we too, always had plans for a pergola up there, but cost and time prohibited it for a long time, and now that we want to sell sooner rather than later we figured "no more"! when it comes to costly improvements.
***
Jane, I believe Chicken Mama sourced it locally up where she is, but I've seen it at W@lmart before LOL, yeah those bugs remind me of ticks, yuck!
***
Dani, I'm using a spray made by Bonide, "Fung-onil", it cost about 10 bucks and I used the whole bottle on one bed, grrrr.....!
Thanks so much Erin!
ReplyDeleteMarley gets my vote in that one! Patriotic doggie! Love it!
