"hey remember everyone... tomorrow's the big day! We were even given a time... make something fantastic for dinner at 5 pm, because the Rapture is at 6 pm sharp! Don't forget to put clean underwear on..."
LInk: May 21, 2011: rapture or party time?
www.sfgate.com
If everything goes as Oakland minister Harold Camping predicts, the Bay Area will suffer a world-ending earthquake around 6 p.m. Saturday, God-fearing Christians will ascend to heaven and everyone else is in big trouble...
who's ready? Wish I had a big beach house, y'all would be invited to the Rapture party - mimosas for those of us still here on Sunday morning!
Man... I have to work on the last day. And Justine is in a play that doesn't start till 7. Whatever will we do???? And we've decided that we'll still be here but our kitchen is going... it's that good! What will we do......
ReplyDeleteI do like the idea of mimosas on Sunday morning.... enjoy.
Judy
What I need to know is WHOSE six o'clock time will this happen at?? Your East Coast six o'clock time or ours on Central time or California's Pacific time? This is important . . . I mean if tomorrow is my last day I want to make the most of it and party until the last second!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you suppose the good Rev. Harold Camping is going to use as an excuse in his sermon Sunday morning? He'll have to ad lib because if he knows it's all going to end Saturday night, he didn't bother writing a sermon for Sunday. Right?
I was wondering the same thing Mama Pea. What's Harold Camping's excuse going to be this time when it doesn't happen? I also read they still had a donate button on their web site. Why the heck would you donate?!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just all the nutcases that are going tomorrow? The rest of us will be left to "Stay Calm and Carry On" as the saying goes.
Mama Pea beat me to it. I want to know if I should have dinner ready before 3:00 PDT, or can we eat at our normal time?
ReplyDeleteRev. Harold Camping raised multi-millions of dollars. If "it" doesn't happen, he can afford to wait until the next opportunity to fleece the believers of their money.
Clean undies, good one! I too wondered exactly what MamaPea said! I heard there is even a place you can take your pets too since they will be stranded without you. For a fee of course. Sure hope that's refundable!
ReplyDeleteOh dear. And I didn't have a chance to finish digging all those raspberries.........

ReplyDeleteI understand their passion and ferver, but it makes me sad that if some wholeheartedly believe it as they do, they're not home holding their families.
ReplyDeleteAt least I won't have to worry about planning the graduation ceremony. ;)
I will still be here too... I am spiritual but I'm not getting picked, I'm positive...
ReplyDeleteI read an article about one mother/father who are making their teenaged children's lives miserable with this stuff. So sad!
According to the link, it's 6 pm PST, since his home is in the Bay Area, LOL...the earthquake should be felt first in New Zealand :)
ReplyDeleteWell, too late to change my ways, so I guess I'll just go out and enjoy the weather and have a cocktail...BEFORE 6 PST, LOL!!! Great P.R. for his organization though, he'll have everyone tuning in to his radio show tomorrow morning just to see what he says!
Hahaha! I'll bring my strawberry marg!
ReplyDeleteMan, it is like living under a rock when you don't read the paper or watch TV.
ReplyDeleteI could go for a cocktail right about now. One with a cute little paper umbrella in it. Just because they make me smile.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming it was changed to 6:00 PM PDT, as the other time has now passed. That means I have exactly two minutes left to tell you goodbye, and how much I love you, your sweet family, your dogs and your blog. It has been such an honor to have you as a cyber friend. I'm so sorry this is the end.
ReplyDeleteUh.....it's 6:00 PM PDT, and I'm still here.
Nevermind.
Gran, we love you too! And hey, it's 8 am Sunday... should I be upset that I didn't "get picked" for the rapture? LOL.....
