Happy Mother's Day!

What's on my agenda?  Last I heard I need to give my hubby and kids a haircut today, sounds exciting, doesn't it?  I am hoping to fit a trip out to the wildlife refuge today to ride bikes with the family, keeping my fingers crossed that we can do it!

Happy Mother's Day to all!  And especially to one very special mother, mine!

ma & me, 1971

Happy Mother's Day, Ma!  We love you and miss you tons, hope dad and my brothers have something special planned for you - have you outgrown the present of "just leave me alone for a day"?  That's where I'm at right now :)

  1. Ha! That was always MY favorite gift--hubby takes the boy out for the day and gives me much needed ME time. Now, years (YEARS!!) later, I'd give anything to have him little again and pestering me constantly. (The boy, NOT my ex..)
    :D
Enjoy the day, Erin. Hope you get that bike ride in!!

  2. Happy Mother's day Erin! Enjoy it while they want to hang out with you - soon enough all they want to do is hang out with their friends. Hope you get to go for the bike ride...

  3. Isn't it hysterical that most mothers would wish for a day ALONE on Mother's Day? That says something about what a HUGE, ALL-ENCOMPASSING job being a good mom is!

If the weather holds, we're going for a hike in the woods today. Hope you get in the bike ride. Happy Mother's Day to you however you spend it!

  5. Well, we woke up to RAIN! Hubby being the great guy that he is, took the kids out back to play in the rain... I'm thinking of the muddy prints they will drag in and having to clean it up, but at least I'm getting some quiet time LOL, now we need to come up with a Plan "B" - I'm thinking a trip to the local feed & seed, now that's a good time for this mama, no shoe shopping for me, I want to shop for garden stakes and birdseed! Does that make me a hillbilly? :)

  6. I wish we had a local farm store. Dang, I'd love a trip there. For my mother's day present, I requested a used wheelbarrow so I have two on the property, and some good friends gave me one. My gift from hubby (tho he doesn't know it) is the fact that he is leaving at noon today and will be gone til Friday on training. Just gonna be me and the teen at home and I can't wait! I love him, but it's gonna be relaxing...

  7. Erin - Well, poop on your rain! We don't have actual drops here yet, but it's very cool and super-gray. If you're a hillbilly for wanting to go to the feed and seed store as a treat today, I'm right with you.

Ruth - We have three (!) wheelbarrows and couldn't function with that many. One is a heavy-duty Rubbermaid (my favorite) and one of the two metal ones is on it's way out. I'd gladly take another Rubbermaid as a replacement. Hint, hint. Anybody listening??

  8. Ruth - Okay, I meant to say "couldn't function withOUT that many." (My head is obviously full of this gray, foggy-ness we have outside today!)
