The Rapture...

Okay, I don't mean to offend any Bible thumpers (although I did it again with that term LOL) out there with that reference, but yeah... it was kinda like that!

The neighbor's trash heap has been banished!

Angels sang and trumpets sounded in the form of the City of Virginia Beach Sanitation Dudes this morning at approx 6:55 a.m. E.S.T.

Moms came out of their houses, children had to relocate their bus stop from my driveway to give the saviours some room to do their work...

There was much cheering and clapping and carrying on by the followers

I wonder if these 2 guys have a Facebook Fan Page, because I seriously need to press "Like"!

  1. Hurrah!!! Don't you just love the sanitation engineers at work. Hope the rest of your day is just as exciting! (or maybe not....)

  3. I can relate - what a joy it will be to NOT have to look at that mess. I was outside today hoping for Divine Intervention to erase gravel pit #2 from my road. Still hoping....

  5. It looks like a scene straight out of Desperate Housewives!

  6. Omg do you have hoarders living next to you or really messy people?

  9. Fantastic! I remember the joy and elation when my neighbors were evicted and the trash people pulled up. I gave them all a beer when they were done. That was NASTY work.

Wait....your kids catch the bus when it's full daylight outside!? Now I'm envious.

  10. Hey everyone, the trash gods heard your prayers today! thanks!

ApplePieGal, it's totally Desparate Housewives, just a little different neighborhood LOL.

Frugal Gardener, I thought they were just messy (he's a single dad of 2 toddlers full time) but apparently hoarders too, things were in pretty bad shape coming out of there.

Cindy, yes that's my pink bathrobe neighbor - kind of a spaz but very lovable and sweet! LOL

Ribbit, I wished I would have had cookies or pumpkin bread made to give to them but all I had was toast & jam :) Yes, the elementary school gets on the bus at 7:10, but check this out - high school bus doesn't come down the street until 8:40! What is that all about?!

  11. HA! I just posted about that again. Our HS STARTS at 7:10....STARTS! The elem starts around 8:45 and the middle school doesn't start until after 9.

My poor kid who catches the elem bus at my school at 7:40 has to get up and go to school with me to be there by 6:45. Poor kids have to get up at 5:45 and they keep that blasted schedule on the weekends, too. Blasted, blasted body clock.

  12. Fantastic, I know that made your day. Hey, there is that neighbor again...is that her attire every morning? Thanks goodness she is not into sexy little numbers....create quite a show but then again, the garbage men might have been there sooner.

  13. Lorie, it definitely put my day off to a great start! Yes, my neighbor has that pink robe almost every morning, sometimes she already has her heels on for work but still the robe goes on, I guess to disguise various stages of her getting ready LOL. But, oh - she IS into sexy little numbers and has been known to come out in silk robes, kimonos and the like! She is the sweetest thing, single mom with 2 kids, but she has already battled breast cancer twice with ongoing treatments and surgeries so sometimes she's a little "out of it" on meds when she dresses for the bus stop so we forgive her :). As of late though, she has been doing fantastic again.

  14. Your tax dollars hard at work. Isn't it frustrating? Why should the city have to clean up after these people? I would be happy too if I were you.

On a lighter note, is that the same neighbor who likes to wear her robe around the neighborhood? hahaha.

  15. That's happened a couple of times in the last few months in my neighborhood, but thankfully not right next door! Hard times are definitely here.
