A military spouse's take on blooming where you are planted. I continue to pretend I am living on my dream farm while in reality, I live on a military base, gardening in a plot alongside a Navy flightline, with half of my homesteading supplies perpetually packed in boxes and have a habit of being overly involved in every community we live in. I'm a busy mom to 2 boys and a spouse to a Navy sailor soon nearing retirement. I love this chaotic life wouldn't trade it for anything!

This is actually exciting here...
I know this will bore some of you to tears, but hey, we don't really have any fresh water nearby, and last time I checked there aren't any saltwater mallards!
Oh, and birds are dinosaurs? Had to google this as I am a bit embarrassed that I am unaware of this fact. So yeah, some say birds are avian dinos, AND that birds are technically reptiles. Who knew? (Besides your kids.) :)
Hmm, maybe she blew in from the Great Dismal! I'm sure there are ducks in the swamps. I've seen them here nesting at the garden center, far from water. Who knows the mind of a duck- they are, after all, bird brains! Judy
She almost seemed like she was a tame duck . . . very used to being around people. Could she have been raised as a pet and flew away from her people's home for some reason?
My aunt and uncle and four cousins had a pet duck when I was growing up. My aunt even had it house trained. Yes, it spent a lot of time indoors but always went outside to poop!
big giggles, it is weird how she just hangs around, she most know how sweet you are!! hi I am back, finally making my rounds, can't wait to see what else is new with you - peace
HAHAHAHAHA! Love the quacking and hosing comment!
ReplyDeleteToo funny. She didn't seem to frightened of you all.

I love it! All that was missing was the hounds. Now THAT would be entertainment.
