A military spouse's take on blooming where you are planted. I continue to pretend I am living on my dream farm while in reality, I live on a military base, gardening in a plot alongside a Navy flightline, with half of my homesteading supplies perpetually packed in boxes and have a habit of being overly involved in every community we live in. I'm a busy mom to 2 boys and a spouse to a Navy sailor soon nearing retirement. I love this chaotic life wouldn't trade it for anything!
I got an error message after I just posted, so I'll try again. Reject this if it comes up twice. I have seen bean bowers, but nothing like that. It's awesome!
Lol, thanks for that. It has been pretty grey around here lately though the sun appears to be squeaking out from behind the clouds this morning. I just can not get over those size of those sunflowers!!!
This is a result of what happened a couple of years ago when daddy was deployed and the boys wanted me to build them a fort! I don't think it's what they had in mind but they enjoyed it anyways! The sunflower is aptly named "Mammoth Sunflower" and they were seeds we got at W@lmart!
Thomas, just direct seed them right where you want them! They grow super-fast. Their heads follow the sun throughout the day, so if you want to plant them, make sure they are on the side of the yard which will let them face you in the afternoon, or you will be giving all the beauty to the neighbors, lol!
Soon, soon...
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful set up! Oh, how I wish I had a spot in my yard for something like that.
If I had a "room" like that, I'd never go inside :-) Those are the biggest sunflowers I've ever seen!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture! This should definitely be framed. Those sunflowers are HUGE! Do you start them inside or seed them direct in the garden?
