Freaky Friday

That's what I'll call this post of random stuff that was in my camera and in my head!

**P.S. warning -  there is a photo of a mummified animal corpse below!

How awesome is this?  Loch made me some rosemary soap at one of his Garden Club meetings, probably the one when the "goat lady" visited -

Heard in the kitchen this week: "Mom, come read the tag on my shirt...."

you would have to look really hard as it's the back side of the tag LOL.... clever :)

Below, this one is for Thomas!  Here is a stand of Artichokes outside a local coffee shop down at the beach - perennial indeed!  Look at that thing already, it's only March.  Growing in just about pure sand also... I'm thinking sometimes we fuss too much and should just let Mother Nature step in!

Okay, here's the yucky photo...
Who needs a cat?  Look what the Jack Russell mix drug in...

Ugh, Sprocket drug this thing UP the back steps to the deck (it's almost as big as she is) and stood there all proud of herself.  What IS THAT THING?!!!  It has an elongated head so I was thinking opossum, but hubby got up close and said it had rabbit teeth LOL... it's MUMMIFIED!  I screamed when I saw it and Marley "the smart one" just looked at me as if to say "I told you I wanted sheep, not a Jack Russell mix puppy, now do you understand why?"

The moon last night...

Just for fun...
Can you find Finnegan?

Bored one rainy night, we headed out to a local furniture store just to look around and waste time and stumbled upon this monstrosity!  I swear it's as big as our house.  This must be the Duggar/Kate Plus 8 model.

More rainy days ahead, temps dropped from a high early this morning in the 60's to down in the 40's, damp, windy, rainy weekend in the forecast.  Just for fun we are headed to the "RV Show" tonight, the kids love looking at the campers and I admit we do too, even though we are die hard tent campers :)  The rest of the weekend will involve Cub Scout Pinewood Derby and fixing some things around the house.  Hopefully repotting seedlings too.  Hope you all have a great weekend!

    1. Anke, LOL the bad part is the dogs are fenced in the yard so it came from somewhere in the immediate vicinity, yuck! I'm thinking maybe she dug her way under the shed or something?

  3. Life is never dull around your house, is it? I was okay with that mummified "thing" Sprocket found until you explained how big it is. Yikes! The rabbit-like teeth makes it sound a little dangerous!

Had to laugh at that giant sofa conglomeration. Here I am struggling to figure out how I can fit one full-sized couch (as opposed to our present love seat) into our small living room . . . can you imagine the dimensions of the living room you'd have to have to use something that size??

    Have a fun weekend!

  4. Ok... If you take one side off of that couch it would probably be bigger than our custom couch in the basement. Of course, knew what we wanted so we ordered the couch and then built the room to fit it LOL! But the nice thing is, we can all fit on it (plus the dog) for movie night! Or it can fit 9 teenagers for game days here. But, we've got the room in the basement that it works.
And that mummified thing... um... yeah... scary to think that it came from the yard. Where HAS it been hiding all this time?!

  5. LOL! That's one great collection of photos/happenings. All except the dead mystery mummy. ;) That is one crazy sofa...thingy. It would take three rooms of my house to hold it all!

  6. That is one weird find. I assume the mummy came from your yard?? LOVE the soap & gift bag- that is a treasure. Fun photo montage, enjoyed it immensely over my coffee this morning.

  7. Cute post, Erin. Love the couch and Finn picture. I know he is there somewhere. That would, by the way, never fit in my house.

Love your new look. The sunflowers are beautiful. I just ordered some new varieties for this growing season.

    Have a great weekend!

  8. Now that is one bunch of interesting pics! Cute message on the tag. My cats bring me corpses all the time and sometimes even live beasties but that corpse is a big one!

What a lovely gift from your son. I bet it smells heavenly.

That is the biggest couch ever! I can't even imagine how big a room you'd need to have one that big. I think that couch is bigger than my entire house! LOL!

  9. Freaky, is right! It may be a rabbit. Or a Martian. Or...a ZOMBIE! Love the soap and bag - very sweet, indeed. I doubt if any one piece of that gigundo living room set would fit through my front door! Hope you had fun at the RV show - sounds like a fun way to window shop.

  10. Holy heck! Thomas are some big artichoke plants! I say you dig them up in the middle of the night and bring them home. Not that I'm advocating theft or anything.
