I'm such a nerd...

Drawing and redrawing plans and dreaming while other moms are out shopping or whatever it is that the hip moms do LOL!

I'm actually just having fun with the kids' art supplies because I wanted to plant my peas today but it's lightning, thunder and pouring rain!!!  Boo, hiss....

At least now I have everything ready and staged: onions, seeds, peas are soaking, fresh pair of garden gloves laundered... tomorrow should be a "go"!  I'm actually late this year, most years I plant peas last week, so I should be safe from Mother Nature's weirdness :)

  1. Planting peas already! I am jealous. I just started my onions and leeks indoors. Can't wait to see pictures of all your perennials poking through the soil! If they haven't done so already, that is!

    1. I'm jealous of your leeks! They don't do well here, especially in spring. Usually if I get a crop it's the one planted in the fall, they will winter over though.

  2. So THAT'S why your garden always looks so beautiful! You actually plan it all out! I'll have to try that some day. (Actually, I do plan out my field garden, especially, but for some reason my drawings don't always fit in/on the actual plot. Hmmmm.)

So if you plant your peas right now, when are they usually ready for harvesting?

    1. Now THAT'S funny - notice there isn't anything written in the bed spaces LOL, that's because I can never decide and just put stuff wherever in the end! The first peas will be picked May 13th and the plants will be done by May 31st. I have that one down to a science LOL, I have 3 years worth of calendars that all say the same things :)

  3. I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one (tying) to plan the garden. It may not always work out as planned, but at least I'm trying, right? ;-)

    1. Honestly Anke, there wasn't anything else to do today! I didn't want to start any big projects since I knew I'd be in the garden the rest of the week so playing with paper and pencils won out!

  5. Um... is drawing out your dream garden a problem??? If so, I'm in trouble. I do the same thing. But like Mama Pea- mine doesn't always fit the way I have imagined or planned it. But what is gardening without improvisation?!

    1. Judy, I imagine my drawings won't resemble what will actually happen out there at all LOL!
