Scenes from camp!

Well, that didn't last long!  We picked up the kids today, they are completely exhausted, and Finnegan is having a "meltdown" kind of day, he will definitely be having an early bedtime tonight!

I'm thinking I would like this in my backyard!

I take these same photos below every year, someday I hope it will be a neat growth chart!  Too bad Finnegan had no smiles today, he was pretty much done when I took this.

(last year's....)

Finn refused to get in the photo here...

(last year's....)

How did this photo get in here?  Oh yeah, the work waits for nobody!

The heat is back on here so we'll be knocking out some garden work tonight after dinner when it cools off a bit.

  1. Aw, poor Finn! I'd probably be exhausted after camp in the heat too! Cute idea with the same pictures every year.

  2. What a difference a year makes. In their mugs too. I think I see some baba ganoush waiting to happen there.

Jane, I'm not big on eggplant, but Baba Ganoush is the one thing I will make!

APG, their bedtime can't come early enough tonight! I just came back inside from trying to work in the garden, ohmigosh it's bad out there, and I just sprayed mosquito spray in my mouth (by accident), aaaaaahhhhhh!

  5. Wow that is a huge bunch of kids! It looks like a really fun camp. Sorry to hear Finn is having a rough evening. I'm sure he'll be better in the morning.
    Lovely vegetables!

  6. Did you offer to leave Finn there? ;o} You can just imagine the energy expended at camp and the fact that he must be operating on fumes at this point. A stiff gin and tonic before bed and he'll be good as new in the morning.

We had lots of humidity today and temps near 90. Not usual for us. Don't know how you do it. Hope your blood hasn't thinned down too much when you have to get back to surviving Minnesota winters!

    Garden produce looks great.

  7. Ahhh, poor Finn. Poor you! How I remember those days. Now mine are in their 20's, and that seems so long ago. I think I just might cry!!!
    Nice veggies. Sniff.

  8. Sparkless, it really is a bunch of 'em LOL, good thing those college kid counselors still are big kids and can handle them without pulling their hair out!

Mama Pea, remember his meltdown at the sledding hill? Yeah, today was just like that, ugh! He finally fell asleep just about an hour ago. Our temps were the exact same as yours today I noticed! Our humidity was lower than usual so it was okay, but still not good for working. I did notice that at 6 pm you were 1 degree HIGHER than us! Ours go back to 98 and humid the day after tomorrow, grrrrr...

Lori, time flies! It does seem like just yesterday I was knee deep in potty training these guys and now they are at sleepaway camp LOL!

  9. I think Finn is my kinda kid. I get "people overload" after something like camp. I always had fun....but enough is enough!

  10. Poor guy, I hope he was able to catch up on his sleep. I like your idea of using those photos as a growth chart, you can already tell just how much the boys have grown since last year.

  11. Oh the happy campers. LOL. I never went to summer camp as a child. My memories of summer camp revolve around the movie "Meatballs".

Anke, I can't get them to stand in the exact spot though... maybe they will end up all looking the same height LOL

Thomas, that movie was good - personally I prefer the Camp Crystal of Friday the 13th, but then I'm a fanatic about B-horror movie summer camp "campy movies" LOL
