My Hometown in the news!

My hometown was filmed today on CNBC, click on the link and you'll get a glimpse of why I love it so much, it's a gorgeous little Mississippi River town in MN, and we have weird donuts, too!

  1. So ,now we all know you are from Red Wing -a beautiful part of the state . my daughter had a long distance boyfriend from La Cresant,MN--SHE she has told me how pretty it is down there . I've never been, can you believe that1 and thanks to everyone's thought and prayers,my husband did not get the worst news today-but more tests need to be done ,like a pet scan.he has the same type of cancer Steven Jobs-head of Apple corp. not the fast growing kind like Patrick Swazi. so he's not going anywhere right now-thank God

  4. Yes, m'dear, you do have weird donuts in your hometown! But that just adds to the quaintness and desirability of it, I'm sure! (I didn't realize the population of Redwing was as small as it is because it's definitely well-known in the state, that's for sure.)

  5. Mama Pea, the population there is huge to me now, when I grew up it was about 9000 people. I think once all the Twin Cities people figured out it was commuting distance (1 hour) they zoomed down LOL. Now we have a W@lmart, Target, Menards & a Caribou Coffee! Luckily, all those things went in on the outskirts of town where you don't see them unless you want to and the downtown is still intact, gorgeous and thriving (relative to the current economy). Still have only one middle & high school, thankfully!

  6. I am not to far from you in another little river town with 2 colleges. I didn't grown up in this town but in another river town on the MN River. I remember going to Red Wing for sports games when it was much more sleepy. :) So happy to have found your blog.

  7. Hi Melissa, welcome! Growing up I remember the football games were THE place to be every Friday night, I was in the marching band and fondly remember how much fun we all had! I checked out your blog, gorgeous header photo, is that where you live? Do you not blog anymore?

  8. Thanks! Yes, that is the creek running through the back of our property. I haven't blogged in quite awhile. Just too busy but I hope to get back to it this fall.
