  6. Oh, that's too funny. Our border collie likes to herd the ceiling fan, definitely keeps her busy. :-)

  7. Tami, LOL!

Jane, that's what they need, a good weekend in the country. I don't think your critters would be impressed or amused at their untrained "unharnessed" abilities LOL!

    Robin, they know it!

Kelly, knew you would like that one :)

  9. They look hot. Send them over here if they are bored we can have them herd the cats. They'd be hot here too cause it got up to 90F yesterday and almost 100% humidity. The humidity is just from all the rain we've had and will dry up in a day or two.

  11. Thanks Erin for your wonderful story on Marley. It really helped me. I am hoping that the Mayor and his wife will be Cooper's forever home. Seems like they are taking good caare of him and are providing him with lots of activity that I couldn't. Love the photo of your three!!! ...debbie of Happy Days

  12. Yes, yes, yes! I have a herd dog that is not getting much work either. Poor guy, he has to herd the kids in the backyard instead! ;-)

Sparkless, herding cats is exactly what they need to start training on LOL

Susan, Marley would be great, but I surely wouldn't wish Sprocket on a friend's flock LOL!

Debbie, it really takes a kind person to put a beloved pet somewhere they would be better suited, you did a good thing for Cooper. I too, still send Marley's former "mom" a few photos every now and then. Her daughter emailed me once and said that when I sent her a photo of Marley playing frisbee in the water she cried, not because she felt bad but because Marley had 2 little boys to play frisbee with :) That made ME feel good, it's wonderful you could connect to another great family for him. Those darn herding dogs aren't for the faint of heart LOL, they are plum crazy and I think I'll have to find another breed when my kids are no longer here!

  17. RuralMama, LOL mine herd the boys too, they are used to it but then we get other kids over here and they are scared and yelling "the dog is BITING me" LOL I guess I don't seem too sympathetic since the other kids usually need a good nip about then :)

Mama Pea, HA! I was just lucky enough to get them all in the same photo, usually they are scattered about like flip flops :)
    ***
Dani, oooohooooohooooo! LOL wanna come sweep? Then you'll see the real story :)
    ***
Judy, oh yes, they are such productive canines LOL
