Don't Forget, Don't Forget, Don't Forget...

That has been my mantra all week...

I didn't forget!

Happy Birthday Sailor/Farmer/Father/Husband!

He turns the big 3-3 today! "Raaawwwwr!" says the wife whose age will NOT begin with the number 3 in a month!

We usually don't do gifts for our birthdays, but I am making an exception this year, and you can see why...!

I know what you're thinking... a gift for him, huh? Well SURE it is! Now I'll be able to send him homemade beef jerky, dried fruit, dried herbs to spice up the horrible ship food, etc! Clever, aren't I ? teeheehee...

  1. Happy, happy birthday to you, Erin's Sailor/Farmer/Father/Husband!! So glad you're still home to celebrate your birthday. Sending best wishes to you on this special day and for the next several months that you'll be spending away from your beautiful family. Thoughts and prayers go with you.

P.S. Hey, Erin, I've always wondered how those thingies work. Give us updates as you use it, 'kay?

  2. Hey cougar girl (you said it first on FB!!) -- Those thingies are great! My hubbie got one from his parents for his last birthday (the first one to begin with the 4)
    He loves it!
Happy birthday to your sailor/farmer/husband/father dude. Have a great day!

  3. Happy Birthday Erin's lucky hubby.

Enjoy that food saver! Marc and I (who are also 7 years apart) never give gifts either but he got me a panini grill a while back as an anniversary gift. Maybe I'll buy him a food dehydrator this summer just because.

  5. Thomas, I love my panini grill! So good especially when I have fresh sprouts and tomatoes for sandwiches! I have a very basic food dehydrator and it only comes out a couple of times a year but I love it. Last year I took extra strawberries and mashed them and spread them out on wax paper in there and the kids had fresh fruit leather in the freezer to take to school in their lunches!

  6. A very clever idea for sending treats to your sweetie! I got one of those last fall and it was awesome for garden produce, especially freezing roasted tomatoes. SO much easier than canning. An outdoorsy friend seals up pairs of clean socks and other things he wants to keep dry when canoeing and kayaking.
