You might be a redneck...

...if your bathtub and 1978 vanity is currenly residing in the front yard, can you tell we don't have an HOA? :)

Bathroom reno is sloooow going due to my husband working 14 hour days and when he's home the weather is either snowing or icy rain, so all the cutting work keeps getting put off. He's not allowed to get sawdust all over my house this time!

And what's this? AGAIN??

just 15 minutes later, it's coming down fast

My kids are already at school, so it will be interesting to see how the lovely city of Virginia Beach handles this one. Perhaps they will just keep the kids overnight for me? A busy mom can dream, can't I? (and for those of you up nort' wondering... yes, this is considered an emergency by Virginia Beach standards, lol! If this winter keeps up the way it has, maybe it won't be such a novelty next year. You should see our roads, they have been plowing with front end loaders with the teeth on the bucket :)!)

  3. My mom keeps telling me that this cold disproves global warming, and I say, "Mooooooooommmm, global warming can disrupt all kinds of weather patterns!"

Hang in there -- wonder if you'll get your kids back.

  4. They cancelled stuff here last night in preparation for the big storm, not sure if that is 'good planning' or plain ol' 'panic'. (My mother was upset to hear I was running errands earlier....I told her it had just started snowing, AND I have 4 wheel drive, lol- I think we can make the 7 miles round-trip!)

Your hubby must be beat, those are some long days in themselves, never mind trying to finish a bathroom remodel!

  5. I'm thinking that could be dangerous if you and your hubby were "snowbound" at home without the kids. (Tee-hee!)

Just so you know, we have sunshine and would hardly recognize a snowflake 'cause it's been such an unusual happenstance this winter. Whaddya gonna do?????

  6. Have you started renting out your snow shovel yet? I bet those boys of yours could make some quick cash!

  7. Stefaneener, I'm with you, why do people take the term "Global Warming" so literally? It means climate change and extremes, and we are definitely having that! They changed our growing zone to zone 8 a few years back, and now I am really glad I erred on the side of caution when planting my perennials and landscaping plants, I stick with the old 7b to be sure!
MamaPea, if hubby and i were home alone together, sad to say but we would be working on something! We never get time to finish any projects with power tools since we can't have them laying around with the kids!

  8. Your first sentence really made me laugh. Hopefully the renovations go smoothly!

We just dodged a major storm up me. I really ready for this weather to be GONE.
