A military spouse's take on blooming where you are planted. I continue to pretend I am living on my dream farm while in reality, I live on a military base, gardening in a plot alongside a Navy flightline, with half of my homesteading supplies perpetually packed in boxes and have a habit of being overly involved in every community we live in. I'm a busy mom to 2 boys and a spouse to a Navy sailor soon nearing retirement. I love this chaotic life wouldn't trade it for anything!

Free Download of Interest - today only!
Thought I would share this one quickly... one day only- free eBook from Amazon: I haven't read it yet, but the title alone is great, and it's free today!
Thanks Erin! I just downloaded it. I have such a hard time liking Kale, maybe this will help. I know it's good for you but just haven't found a good recipe that I like yet. Neighbor gave us Kale salad last week & it was edible but just not great.
Great to know there are still people around with a good sense of humor!
I had great plans for us to OD on kale this year because I keep reading how very good it is for us in so many ways. First two plantings didn't germinate. Third sowing germinated and the plants are just now about 2-1/2" tall. Will be kilt dead by frost soon. Grrrr . . .
Hey Mama Pea ... If you get a harvest & a good recipe, let me know. It's just too tought for my digestive system. Even within cooking it down, like greens (which I love!) it just didn't taste good to us.
We just love kale, and had a tiny harvest this year. Planned to plant more this fall, and just couldn't get to it. Oh, well, there's always next year. Thanks for the heads up on the book. I got it, and will find a few minutes to read it one of these days...sometime soon. Thanks.
