I really am alive!

I'm still here!  I have been crazy busy the past couple of weeks.  I apologize for not keeping up on my commenting on all your blogs, I've been reading them whenever I can, but lately it's been on my phone, and trying to comment on that thing is an exercise in futility.  The kids have been really busy with school  and other activities lately, and hubby has been working very long days and enduring all sorts of drama at the squadron courtesy of some ill behaved junior personnel there, which has been making him very tired in the evenings so I haven't had much in the way of "adult conversation" lately.  So what's a girl to do?
KNIT!

Isn't this yarn fun?  Looks like I will be doing washcloths this year as gifts, lots of washcloths, LOL...waaaaaay behind schedule for knitting gifts this year, as in just started last night, yikes!

Other events going on:

Loch made the Honor Roll, big deal for him since this is the first grade they offer that in here.  We are very proud of him of course, but I'm really just excited to get one of those annoying bumper stickers out of the deal.

Baking, lots and lots of baking, for school parties, church functions, and also a girl has to reach a certain level of chocolate in the bloodstream to stay up for that late-night knitting :)

If you are anything like my husband, you will love this one...

Even though I can now be considered a "scrapbooker", even I can find the humor in this one, because it really is true, like hubby says "do you really need all this crap?"  LOL you'd think they'd replace that bulb a.s.a.p.!

Is anyone else out there finding themselves really not in the holiday mood this year?  Maybe it's because we aren't going home this year, maybe it's the tight finances, or maybe let's just talk about the fact that it was 78ยบ here yesterday... YUCK!!!!  I'm hoping things change soon, my "busyness" of late should relax a bit next week, so I'm hoping that my mood improves along with getting some much needed time back. I feel like I have reverse S.A.D. due to the warm unseasonable temps, this girl likes it cold in the wintertime!

Now we have to leave the house again so the agent can show it (to yet another person who can't get approved for a mortgage)... what a great usage of time it is to drive aimlessly around with the kids and dogs in the car, good times. This time we may go to the park and I can sit in the car and catch up on everyone's posts!

Leaving you with this redneck gem:

'Tis the season!

  1. I think everybody is very, very busy this time of year... Even though I try not to get stressed out, it still happens to me. Christmas party from work and taekwondo, work itself (kids know Christmas is near and go bonkers), baking, it just doesn't seem to end right now... I'm really looking forward to the Christmas break and just relaxing!
The yarn you are using is great, I love how colorful it is.
Now I'm off to iron, clean and bake...

  2. Tis the season for...stress. I am knitting most of my Christmas gifts this year, too, and I am trying not to get all panicky - looking at the list versus how much time left in the month! Argh! Congrats to your smarty-pants boy! That is just wonderful. He is so cute. You have an awful full plate, Missy. Hope you are getting a little "you" time - chocolate or not.

  3. I was just thinking of you last night and thinking you hadn't posted for a long time. Glad to see you are just busy.
I've been feeling a bit like you because we don't have any snow although it is cold enough. It's always a sad state of affairs when we have a Christmas without snow but it does happen.
Congrats to Loch! That is a great accomplishment.
Now if only I could get my lazy butt out of this chair and get going on making some cookies or something I may be able to get in the Christmas spirit but the sun is shining and it's freezing outside, very unChristmasy.

Susan, I just realized we are already in the "12 days of Christmas" zone, there's no way I'm finishing any of this...

Judy, LOL my grandparents had an area in their basement done up like a "bar" and they had a RED toilet seat hanging on the wall above the fireplace hahaha

  7. Erin, you simply have to send the Crapbook photo to the Ellen show! Classic!

Glad you are hanging in there and just super busy. Have fun driving around the hood ;) Joy! Not.

  8. The bad news is where do you go when you have no place to go? The good news, of course, is that people are at least looking at your house. I know of many people who have had absolutely no action on their house that's for sale at all.

You've got to be crazy busy just with everything involving the boys. A big hug (I'm sure that will thrill him) to Loch for his acedemic achievements. (I know this is just the beginning for that little brainiac of yours.)

The "crapbook" sign is a gem as is the light sculpture of the hanging deer. Now that is clever!!

Good to have a post from you, m'dear!

  9. Hysterically funny photos! I needed those today. It has been hectic recently. Even if people don't have approval, at least they're looking. You just need to wait for the right person to come along. Good luck, knit well, and take care of you and yours.

  10. Love, love, love the deer.
I'm with you on the dearth of seasonal cheer. Grumpy, grumpy, grumpy. I think finishing the one "must do" knit project would help.

  13. Congrats to the wee-one!

    That yarn IS fun looking!

Not sure if you'd want to cut down on any "potential" buyers, but you could ask your agent to show only to those with pre-approval letters from their lenders.

Oh, and I WISH we had warm weather like you....we've been unseasonable warm here in the 40's during the day. BRrrrrrr!!!

  16. Oh, wow...at least you blogged! I haven't cooked, grown or done anything worth blogging about at all. If anyone is reading this comment, it tells them I'm also still alive.

Congratulations to Loch! My grandson, Kevin, also made the honor roll. It does make one proud :-)

Mama Pea, it's good to BE back! Although I probably won't post this weekend since these are the last few days where our calendar is full!
    ***
Judy & Stefaneener, this season is hectic here too and we aren't even traveling or having guests LOL
    ***
Mama Tea, thanks! But you keep your house buying/selling thoughts all for yourself until you are settled LOL

  18. Congrats to Loch!

That deer photo is kind of funny. I am not sure that I have seen hanging deer since moving to MA all those years ago, but it was an everyday sight in WI during hunting season.

  19. My husband feels the same way about crapbooking as your husband, and he LOVED the picture.

Hope the house situation gets resolved soon!

  21. Hilarious! Both pics had me rolling. We just put our house up for sale too. I have a feeling I'm gonna hate this process.
