A military spouse's take on blooming where you are planted. I continue to pretend I am living on my dream farm while in reality, I live on a military base, gardening in a plot alongside a Navy flightline, with half of my homesteading supplies perpetually packed in boxes and have a habit of being overly involved in every community we live in. I'm a busy mom to 2 boys and a spouse to a Navy sailor soon nearing retirement. I love this chaotic life wouldn't trade it for anything!

A slice of heaven!
Aside from eating plain, I can't imagine a better application for the Brandywine tomato.
I'm not even sure why I added the veggie burger in there!
That was just plain cruel! Not only that you can manage to grow tomatoes like that but because we had a very insufficient dinner of leftovers tonight because of our long work day and I'm sitting here at 8:15 p.m. with my stomach growling wondering what I can eat!
I have no tomatoes anywhere close to looking like that. I guess I'll just chew on a piece of lettuce, since that's the only thing ready to pick. I'm soooo jealous!
Now you're probably going to hate me for saying this, but tomatoes are the only veggie that I can't eat raw. :( I just can't do it. Gag relex, you know what I mean? But I guess that means you don't have to worry about me coming to steal those gorgeous monsters you have!
That almost made me cry. How dare you show your Brandywines! ;0) I could almost taste it -- so far, I've one ripe cherry tomato. Maybe I should slice it and put it on a teensy vegetable burger?
I miss talking to all you gals-your making me crack up-I tried to stay away because I thought it was disrespectful to my husband.I only told momma pea we were having medical problems.. they popped up out of the blue. my husband has pancreatic cancer. don't know yet how much time he has left. semper fi old boy!
Judy, I'm sorry to hear about that news - I hope you keep us updated and stay strong. We are here for you when you need to talk - that's a lot for you to deal with and there's nothing wrong with checking in or venting it that keeps you sane, right?! Hugs your way...
thanks Erin, that means a lot---I hope to be back to check out your recipes in that pressure cooker--I might need to crawl in it -just to throw off some pressure
I really really cannot wait until our brandywine plants start pumping out fruit like that! Wow is it a big one!
ReplyDeleteI think you are going to start receiving threats! Were you not warned about showing those Brandywines?
ReplyDeleteBut Jane, it's all I've got! LOL...

No threats LOL! I will pummel you with BRANDYWINES! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is SO unfair!!! I'm still a ways away from the first tomato of any sort. I'm hoping for at least a cherry tomato soon... anything!

ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I've had a tasty veggie burger. Then again, I usually only like them when they taste like meat!

ReplyDeleteI'm loving the brandywines I've pulled. I'm seriously thinking there's not a better tomato.
