News...

When the breaking news interrupted my "Army Wives", you know I was a little peeved - but WOW, Osama is dead.  Whenever I see that "Special Report" flash across the screen at this time of night I am immediately filled with dread, but am in awe now - I honestly am amazed that he really was alive all this time...

Welcome news to this military wife, but there is so much work yet to do, and wondering what he has been doing all this time, and what it could mean in the future...

Just had to write something down so I might be able to sleep better!

  3. I just wonder , though, if he hasn't been "grooming" a replacement. Just because one crud is gone doesn't mean the problem is solved. We sure live in a world, don't we?
I think we wouldn't have HALF the problems if everyone just gardened.....LOL!

  5. Having lived as a military wife many moons ago (101st Airborne Division), I keep one eye cautiously open. I'm afraid it isn't done...it's probably just beginning. However, for today, we should revel in the fact that justice was carried out, by our amazing U.S. Military. I have an urge to play Toby Keith today...

  6. I agree that it's not over, but it does bring some closure. It also raises lots of questions. Our world has changes so much. Hats off to the amazing and brave military men and women who are on the front lines, keeping us safe.

  7. This burial at sea has me upset... it may be archaic, but the American people deserve to have his head paraded around on a stick... we want a VISUAL confirmation. The U.S. military forces did the job, and all those who have spent time serving over there or lost loved ones were deprived of that confirmation they so deserve. I am not looking forward to all the "conspiracy theory" ideas that will detract from celebrating the perseverance and dedication of our troops.
Military vets earn the right to a Navy ship service and burial at sea to honor their service and sacrifices, something is out of whack when they are interred in the same place as the person responsible for so much loss and sorrow.

Lots of questions and things remain, but I'm done with my rant thankfully. I am so thankful to have my garden and other hobbies to keep mine and my kids' thoughts away from such things. Sue, you summed it up perfectly, if the world was full of gardeners, people would see life and potential and kindness everywhere, You know the saying about "idle hands"... gardeners don't have to worry about that! Even in the winter we are cooking and sewing and seem to stay busy. There should be a terrorist/evildoer prison full of gardens they have to maintain :)

  8. Sometimes I feel as though the world will never come together until some sort of alien species decides to invade us. I've been watching old reruns of "V: The final battle". LOL (I miss the 80s.)

There are just some things in this world that I will never be able to understand...someone like Bin Laden is one of those things. Yes, the world would definitely be a better place if everyone could appreciate the beauty of growing things.

  9. I don't trust the burial at sea either. A bit suspicious if you ask me. I hope they have him alive, hidden away somewhere, so he can rot in some prison &%## hole. Normally I am not this cruel in thought, but that was one man I would personally pull the trigger for - and I won't kill a housefly.
