And nearly all of our plants we get when they are marking them down super cheap. I had a beautiful lilac at the old house that I had gotten, half dead, for 25 cents at WalMart. I also have a penchant for picking off pieces of sedum that don't belong to me and sticking that in the ground. But that's hereditary. My 85 yo grandma has a walking stick with a spade at the end and a plastic bag in her back pocket. She, literally, will dig stuff up out of people's yards! No one has ever stopped her, and she's met some folks along the way.

And Dude! your hammock cover is so not Redneck - It's totally Gilligan's Island!Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16253555059755669254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5855162440022875977.post-40331992518658413202011-04-28T08:46:07.037-04:002011-04-28T08:46:07.037-04:00I like the thatch, people pay good money to fly to...I like the thatch, people pay good money to fly to an island for that effect. :)Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06457953816169352495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5855162440022875977.post-53440693007507036702011-04-28T08:32:01.716-04:002011-04-28T08:32:01.716-04:00Dang, I wanna come over and hang in your yard!Dang, I wanna come over and hang in your yard!Danihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04038703319667640641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5855162440022875977.post-44941026852442667362011-04-28T05:52:02.545-04:002011-04-28T05:52:02.545-04:00I love the Rose of Sharon-but haven't been abl...I love the Rose of Sharon-but haven't been able to grow it--the deer love it too. Well, we don't have the pool anymore, it was creating a lot of stress with me having neighborhood kids over and their parents were never around to help watch them, but we do have the real beach just about 2 miles away (of course we never go LOL)
***
Hi Becky! Is it invasive where you are at? It seems the stuff can be like bamboo here IF left to its own devices. I have found that if you only have one central trunk instead of letting it go shrubby it won't spread (yet)!
***
Gran, it's amazing how soon we were in dire need of shade this year!
***
Chicken Mama!
